Most hotel operators struggle to convert a typical King layout into a Twin layout effectively. The key challenges include:

• Bed Configuration Issues – Traditional setups make it difficult to transition between a King bed and two separate beds without compromising space, comfort, practical reading lights, and other essential amenities.
• Bathroom Limitations – Standard guestroom bathrooms lack flexibility; when one guest is using the facilities, the other must wait until the space is available. This disrupts convenience and privacy, particularly for colleagues or family members sharing a room.

Addressing these challenges requires an innovative approach to guestroom layout and functionality to enhance the overall guest experience.

Solutions

I designed a flexible guestroom layout that seamlessly adapts to both couples and two individuals sharing, whether they’re work colleagues or family members.

Key design features include:

• Adjustable Sleeping Arrangement – Two three-quarter beds, separated by a bedside pedestal, provide personal space without feeling cramped. When needed, the beds can be easily combined to create a luxurious king-size bed, with bedside pedestals on either side.
• Innovative Open-Plan Washroom – The bathroom layout enhances both privacy and functionality, featuring:
  • A private WC
  • An open stone vanity with a washbasin
  • A private shower area with a dedicated drying bay
  • Each element can be used simultaneously while maintaining complete privacy for guests.

This versatile washroom solution has been a resounding success for the hotel and its guests, offering a perfect balance of comfort, efficiency, and privacy.
